Roshan Jayaraman wins Florida All-Star State Championship 2010 K-5

Congratulations to Roshan Jayaraman for winning the 2012 Florida All-Star State Championship Tournament (K-5). Roshan finished with a perfect 5 points to claim undisputed 1st place. Entering the last round, Roshan, with 4.0 pts, and fellow Yes2Chess clubmate Truman Hoang, with 3.5 pts, was #1 and #2 in the standings. Therefore, they were matched up in the final round on Board 1 in a battle for the championship. Roshan proved to be up to the task as Truman blundered away a knight and resigned soon after.

Following up his co-championship finish K-5 section of the Florida SuperState Tournament, this is a truly remarkable and meteoric rise for Roshan, who has only been playing serious chess for 10 months. We look forward to many great accomplishments in the future from this prodigy.
